Course description: 3 mornings of pre-historic dinosaurs and
mythical dragons. Kids will make several drawings using a variety
of mediums including markers, color pencil, and graphite pencils to
bring these magnificent creatures and their world to life! We'll
even do a little bit of origami. A fun mix of science, imagination,
and art! Lessons are timed and geared toward younger children with
shorter attention spans, but artists with more mature drawing
skills will get plenty of challenges from Mr. Billy.

Course description: 3 intensive 5 hour days of teamwork to
write, design, build, and animate a short claymation movie.
Claymation is an animation technique where each pose of a clay
character is photographed to be replayed at high speed, bringing it
to life. Students will come up with their own characters, sets,
props, from materials provided and collaborate as a group with Mr.
Billy to write a story. 8 students max (too many cooks spoil the
broth), so spots will fill up fast. Previous student movies can be

Course description: A week of drawing for all the Star Wars
fans out there. Kids will make drawings of many characters from the
Star Wars universe, including favorites like Yoda or Darth Vader.
We will learn to render special effects like glowing light sabers,
explosions, and metallic surfaces while using a variety of drawing
materials. Lessons geared toward both older and younger kids.
Usually, the enthusiasm is enough to keep even the shortest of
attention spans going strong, even with complex characters like the
droid General Grievous! Be warned, Mr. Billy might make a lot of
sound effects while he draws!

Course description: A week long introductory course
exploring the cutting edge universe of digital arts and animation
geared toward older kids and teens. We will install freely
available open source software, including programs like Gimp, and
Blender. Students will learn to digitally paint, make pixel art,
animation techniques, and 3-D modeling/rendering through various
small projects. Laptops must be brought by the student (and don't
forget the power cord just in case). PC or Mac does not matter.
Drawing tablet not required but recommended. If students already
have software like Photoshop or Adobe Flash that is a plus, but
also not required. Previous computer experience and knowledge
highly recommended. Mr. Billy has taught digital arts courses for
over 5 years and has plenty of experience keeping highly technical
things easy to understand for the beginner.
