We will install freely available open source software, including programs like Gimp, and Blender. Students will learn to digitally paint, make pixel art, animation techniques, and 3-D modeling/rendering through various small projects. Laptops must be brought by the student (and don't forget the power cord just in case). PC or Mac does not matter. Drawing tablet not required but recommended. If students already have software like Photoshop or Adobe Flash that is a plus, but also not required. Previous computer experience and knowledge highly recommended. Mr. Billy has taught digital arts courses for over 5 years and has plenty of experience keeping highly technical things easy to understand for the beginner.

Course description: : A week long drawing course exploring the strange and mysterious world beneath the Earth's Oceans. Kids will make several drawings using a variety of mediums including markers, color pencil, and graphite pencils to bring the ocean world to life! Subjects will include a variety of animals, sea vessels, fantasy creatures like mermaids or sea dragons, and many other fun projects! Lessons will be geared toward 6-8 year olds, but artists with varied skill levels will get plenty of individual attention from Mr. Billy.
