MONDAYS:

Basic Drawing - with Mr. Billy

  • Mondays, 4:15 to 5:15 pm, 11 week session – March 23 - June 4
  • Ages 5 to 7

Drawing Fundamentals (Monday) - with Mr. Billy

  • Mondays, 5:30 to 7 pm, 11 week session - March 23 - June 4
  • Ages 8 to 12

Acrylic/Watercolor Paint - with Mr. Billy

  • Tuesdays, 5 to 7 pm, 11 week session - March 23 to June 4
  • Age 8 and up
  • $290 supplies included. Fee prorated by $22/missed class for late registrants
  • Course description: Students will explore acrylic and watercolor painting, and can expect to create around 5-7 paintings over the course of 11 weeks. Some paintings will be based on subject matter and styles introduced by Mr. Billy, while other paintings will be independent projects that individual students will decide upon. All materials are provided. Of course, if a student has their own paints and supplies, they can bring them too.

Wednesdays:

Cartooning - with Mr. Billy
  • Wednesdays, 4:15 to 5:45 pm, 11 week session – March 23 to June 4
  • Ages 8 to 12 
  • $200 supplies included. Fee prorated by $15/missed class for late registrants
  • Course description: A drawing class covering the special techniques of drawing cartoon characters. Students will learn to draw well-known characters and develop their own original characters. Register by completing the email form at the bottom of this page.

Blender 3D Modeling/Animation
– with Mr. Billy
  • Wednesdays, 6 to 8 pm, 11 week session – March 23 to June 4
  • Age 10 and up
  • $220 supplies needed. Fee prorated by $16/ missed class for late registrants
  • Course description: Students will use Blender, a free professional 3D rendering program to make 3D models, build realistic materials, and explore animation techniques used by big movie studios like Pixar or Dreamworks. Students are required to bring their own laptops to class. Working in 3D is much easier when students bring a mouse. You can download Blender for free from Blender.org, or Mr. Billy can help with installation the first week.

THURSDAYS:

Teen/Adult Drawing - with Mr. Billy

  • Age 12 and up
  • $250 no supplies required. Fee prorated by $18/missed class for late registrants
  • Course description: A realistic drawing course for teens and adults of any skill level. We will use marker and color pencil techniques, explore graphite and pen drawing, and explore a variety of subjects each week. Register by completing the email form at the bottom of this page.

Summer Art Camps - 2015
This summer Mr. Billy will be teaching all kinds of drawing camps! Camps will meet Monday through Thursday throughout June and July in either the mornings or afternoons. Students will make several drawings and other projects throughout the week using markers, colored pencils, graphite pencils, and oil pastels. All drawing materials are provided. Register below to secure a spot!

JUNE:

Dinosaurs and Dragons Drawing Camp
  • June 8 - 11 | 10-12 AM
  • Ages 5-12
  • $100
Camp Description: For the ferocious imaginations! Kids will make several drawings bringing prehistoric beasts like the T-rex and stegosaurus to life. We will also design and create many types of dragons and even try a little bit of origami. A fun mix of science, imagination, and art!
Horses Drawing Camp
  • June 15 - 18 | 10-12 AM
  • Ages 5-12
  • $100
Camp Description: For the horse lovers! Kids will make several drawings to explore different techniques of drawing horses, from realistic breeds, horses in motion, and fantasy! We'll even try a little bit of origami.
Cartooning Camp
  • June 15 - 18 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 7 and up
  • $140
Camp Description: A week long drawing course exploring the whimsical world of cartoon drawing. Students will learn techniques to draw several well known cartoon characters, super heroes, and video game characters, and even create their own. Subjects will include characters from Frozen, Sponge Bob, Phineas and Ferb and more!
Star Wars Drawing Camp
  • June 22 - 25 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 5-12
  • $140
Camp Description: A week of drawing for all the Star Wars fans! Kids will make drawings of many characters from the Star Wars universe, including favorites like Yoda or Darth Vader. We will learn to render special effects like glowing light sabers, explosions, and metallic surfaces while using a variety of drawing materials.
JULY:

Texas Ranch Drawing Camp
  • June 29 - July 2 | 10-12 AM
  • Ages 4-8
  • $100
Camp Description: A drawing camp geared to the younger developing artist. Kids will make drawings to explore the many things you might come across on a Texas ranch like blue bonnets, cactus, jackrabbits, longhorns, local birds, or cowboy boots. A fun opportunity for a young child to explore their drawing abilities with familiar and fun subject matter!
Acryllic/Watercolor Painting Camp
  • June 29 - July 2 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 5-12
  • $180
Camp Description: Get ready to paint! Students can expect to make 4 to 5 small paintings of various subjects and different painting techniques. All painting materials and canvases are included.
Digital Arts Drawing Camp
  • July 6 - 9 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 10 and up
  • $140
Camp Description: An introductory course exploring the cutting edge universe of digital arts and animation geared toward older kids and teens. We will use freely available open source software, including programs like Gimp, and Blender. Students will learn to digital paint, make pixel art, animation techniques, and 3-D modeling/rendering through various small projects.
    Special requirement: Laptop computers must be brought by the students (and don't forget the power cord just in case). PC or Mac does not matter. Basic computer experience is highly recommended. If students own a mouse or drawing tablet those tools help digital artists immensely. It is not unusual for students to borrow mom or dad's computer for the class.
Claymation Camp
  • July 13 - 16 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 7 and up
  • $160
Camp Description:4 intensive 3 hour days of teamwork to write, design, build, and animate a short claymation movie. Claymation is an animation technique where each pose of a clay character is photographed to be replayed at high speed, bringing it to life, like Gumby. Students will come up with their own characters, sets, and props, from materials provided and collaborate as a group with Mr. Billy's guidance to write a story. 6 students max (too many cooks spoil the stew), so spots will fill up fast. Star Wars Drawing Camp II

Graphite Pencil Drawing Camp

Camp Description: For the serious artist interested in rendering art with pencil. Students will explore a variety of subjects including animals, people to learn how to use many grades of pencils to render realistic shadows, lighting, and textures.
Oceans Drawing Camp
  • July 27 to 30 | 10-12 AM
  • Ages 4-8
  • $100
Camp Description: Kids will make several drawings exploring the strange and mysterious world above and below the Earth's Oceans. Subjects include a variety of sea animals, fantasy creatures like mermaids or sea dragons, sea vessels, and other fun projects!
African Safari Drawing Camp
  • July 27 to 30 | 1-4 PM
  • Ages 5-12
  • $140
Camp Description: Students will draw the magnificent animal species and people of the continent of Africa! We will explore the deserts, rainforests, and the landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. We will draw animals like lions, giraffes, gorillas, the Ashanti people of Ghana, and much more!
